30 Hour Famine
April 25 thru 26 Lock-In
Our Youth (you!) will be
participating in World Vision’s 30 hour Famine April 25-26. Did you know
that for every dollar you raise you can feed a starving child for a day?
Every $30 you raise can feed a starving child for a month?
Please make an effort to be at
Sunday School and youth on Sunday, March 29 th,
so that you can get your fundraising packets and plan your event. This
is not about us not eating for 30 hours, but about the fact that other
people don’t have the choice and don’t have enough food to eat. Let’s do
our part!

Senior Recognition Sunday
Sunday, May 17th, is Senior
Recognition Sunday. If you have a High School graduate and would like to
have a tri-fold board to display pictures, memories, accomplishments,
they will be available at the Youth House starting April 21st. On May
17th the church will be running a picture show for all graduating
seniors, including college grads. Please call the church office and let
us know of your graduation/accomplishments and bring your young pictures
and graduation photos by May 3rd so we may display them on the big
screen.

Work Camp Meeting and Information
This year the youth group will be
taking a combined mid high/senior high work trip to Cedar Rapids, IA
July 5-10 th.
The group will be helping the town with flood recovery from the flood of
2008. If you are an adult and might be interested in sponsoring this
trip and working alongside the youth, please let me know! Looking
forward to seeing everyone there!

“ACQUIRE THE FIRE”
Acquire the Fire is coming to
Kansas City Feb. 29- Mar. 1 at Kemper Arena. Just one of more than 30 stops
across the nation, the Let Your Voice Be Heard 2007-08 tour is challenging youth
to stand up and speak out. Backed by a website that posts videos, photos and
other teen-generated art, the Acquire the Fire weekend event is all about giving
youth an interactive event where they use their voices to praise God and rally
their generation to live for Him. Since 1989, Acquire the Fire youth events have
positively impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of teens. Packed with
drama, pyrotechnics, worship and music from top tier Christian music artists,
the entire event is geared towards giving youth hope amid the many struggles
facing them today. Tickets are $25 for the weekend plus money for food. Please
RSVP to Anne if you are interested in attending. Tickets will be purchased no
later than Feb. 10th.
