Grow and Learn: Adults
At Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church we have many opportunities to grow and learn. There are groups for study, for sharing, for reading and for learning. Men and women alike, take part in activities that enrich their lives, not only by being together and sharing fellowship but also by sharing their knowledge, their interests and their friendships.
Sunday mornings are about coming together in the sanctuary to worship our God and joining with members of our faith community to learn and grow in God’s Word. Addressing the latter is what the Sunday school part of Sunday morning is all about.
Blue Ridge offers a number of Sunday morning learning opportunities for adults. There are classes for adults of all ages with points of emphasis ranging from traditional Bible study to discussions of current events from a Christian point of view. Our adult Sunday school classes meet at various times and at various locations throughout the church. Class schedules.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY and ISSUES GROUP
Women meet twice a month, the first and third Thursdays from 10:00 am-12:00 noon, for Bible study in the church library. Using books and/or printed guides as their resource material they discuss timely topics of the day while considering scriptures for reference and personal guidance while relating to their studies of the Bible. Sometimes the discussions can be very lively as they compare their personal lives and “issues” to those in biblical times. This is an open group with a standing invitation for anyone to visit or join at any time. On an average, there are 10-12 women in attendance.
