What Should I Expect When I Come to Visit?

greeters 01When you visit Blue Ridge UMC, you are our guest and we want you to experience genuine hospitality. Upon entering our building there will be someone waiting to greet you. As you enter into our sanctuary, you will be greeted by one of our ushers, who will help you find anything that you might need.

Childcare is available from 8:45 – 11:45 am every Sunday, which includes the time during our worship service; our ushers will be more than happy to help you find our children’s wing and nursery.

Our service is typically an hour long and includes singing, prayer, and a time for learning about God’s Word. During the worship service, we will take up an offering. You are our guest and are therefore in no way expected or required to make an offering. What we do request is that you register your attendance by filling out the “blue community card” giving you by the usher and drop it in the plate during the offering.

communion 01COMMUNION

Communion is served the first Sunday of the month. If we’re serving communion during your visit you’re welcome to participate.  Your presence in our worship indicates your desire to know and worship Jesus Christ and we encourage you to take part in our communion if you wish.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At Blue Ridge UMC we enjoy a very casual environment. We encourage you to come as you are. Wear a suit and tie or wear your favorite blue jeans; you’re welcome either way. After all, Sunday worship has little to do with the clothes you wear and everything to do with experiencing God’s presence.
